I am a mathematics educator, Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching recipient, author, researcher, and consultant.
I am a core faculty member at the American College of Education, adjunct professor at California State University San Marcos, and high school math teacher at Oceanside Unified School District.
I am also a State Network of Educator for SBAC and the California Department of Education; a Facilitator for Learn Zillion; a Committee of Visitors, grant reviewer, and panelist for the National Science Foundation; a grant reviewer for the United States Department of Education; a panelist for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing; an appointed mathematical assessment expert at ICME-12; and a consultant for various districts for the implementation of Common Core.
My research interests include mathematics curricula and instruction, specifically as it relates to the culture of high-stakes standardized assessment, implementation of Common Core, and technology in the classroom.
