I taught at my alma mater, Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park, before being inspired by my students to pursue a PhD in math. The journey took 10 years - working as a program specialist at San Bernardino Unified School District along the way - but I just recently earned a PhD in pure math from the University of Iowa and am glad to back in Southern California.
